Part of Photowalking Utah Event #6 - Lab photography at the Moran Eye Center, University of Utah, Salt Lake City, UT.
It is time to announce our sixth Utah Photowalk which will be held on February 23rd at the John A. Moran Eye Center from 9am-1pm. This photowalk will be an indoor event with some opportunity for outside excursions centered around two themes. First off will be a Photoshop tutorial by Ann Torrence who will be presenting a preview of her workshop at the Moab Photo Symposium with the focus on blending, mixing and remixing, a subject uniquely Ann. Ann's presentation will show us how to use the extensive number of tools in Adobe Photoshop dedicated to layer blending modes and the options palette.
This was my second time meeting the great folks in the Photowalking Utah group and I had just as much as I did the first time, when we spent the day learning about studio lighting.
For this event about 50 photographers had full access to the center's retinal research labs for 2 hours after which we convened in the auditorium for Ann's informative Photoshop presentation. While many of the photogs spent their time shooting lab equipment I decided to shoot mostly behind-the-scenes, covering the shooters hard at work on their creations.
Here's a sampling of the 2 hour shoot:
I also set some time aside to take some wide-angle architectural photography of the center itself:
You can view the full photoset over at my Flickr account and view the works of the other photographers at the group's photo collection.
