The National Western Stock Show recently kicked off their 2010 show here in Denver, CO with a parade/longhorn cattle drive through downtown. This was my first time experiencing such a thing and I was fascinated by the juxtaposition of downtown skyscrapers and real-life cowboys.
I was also secretly terrified at the sight of so many longhorns negotiating their way through the streets - I kept envisioning a Pamplona-like spectacle of humans and horns but thankfully it never materialised.

Aside: working with such a wide-angle lens one needs to get pretty dang close to the subject to fill the photo...more than once I caught myself only a whisker or two away from the business end of those wonderful beasts!
